My mom and aunt came into town last week for Mother's Day weekend and I took my mom to a Food and Wine tasting...needless to say we had to help each other to the car we ate so much.
Then that evening a couple who lives down the street (who are way too cool) took us out on the town. We went to downtown Denver to see the Comedy Central CD taping of Nick Thune who was too funny...my ribs hurt from laughing. From there we hit a couple of bars/clubs and got our dance on. We got back to their house about 2:30 in the morning and just talked and hung out...once we hear the birds chirping at 5:30 am we figured we outta call it a night...needless to say that was the first time in a very long time that we got to bed when the sun was already coming out.
Saturday the hubby and I went downtown to LoDo street and browsed the shops kid free which was a nice break and then hung low on Saturday night...I am no spring chicken anymore so I needed to recoop.
On Sunday I took my mom and my aunt to Black Hawk, Colorado which is an old mining town turned into casinos. I was up $25 bucks but couldn't pull myself away but we had a blast. I was a little scared driving up in my rear wheel drive SUV (in Florida they don't come standard 4wd as they do here) up to 8000 feet to the casinos. It began to snow and I was a little scared if it kept snowing I would be stuck or loose control of my car. It ended up clearing up but remained a little cloudy so I made it home safe. That night Hubby went to Target and bought us a bunch of games so we stayed up late talking and playing Bingo, Blackjack and Clue...I forgot how much fun games are. I want to invite everyone over now and have a game party...with a little drinking ;0).
I have to say we moved to one of the coolest streets here in town. Everyone is so nice and welcoming...our neighbors who live directly across the street have kids Love's age so she is having a ball. We have already had both couples over our house as you know we love to entertain.
Zman had his first play at his new school yesterday. He was Horace Tabor...aka "the Silver King". He did an amazing job considering he didn't feel well. He is fitting right in and I am so thankful for this place.
I don't know if it's the altitude or just Colorado but everyone seems so friendly.
Let's see how nice they are when we are dressed to the nines in our San Diego Charger's jerseys for the Denver Broncos game come football season...bring it on!!!
