You Can Hear A Pin Drop While Waiting For My LightBulb Moment

Hubby went back to work today; I have the day off and have been lounging around with the kids. They went upstairs a few hours ago to take a nap and it's just me and Brutus. No tv on, no music, just the sound of me typing this post.

It's given me some time to really think about what I want in this new year. I am thinking about going back to school...perhaps; if I can figure out what I wanna do when I grow up. I think it's about time; I'm 31 and I kind of fell into my real estate career when I was 16. It's definately not something I set out in life to do; somethings we don't plan they just happen right? But I want to look back and say; this is what I want to do.

I am really going to dig deep over the next fews days and try and figure it out. Wish me luck!

Ok, I'll let you in on a little secret. I'm 40 and I STILL don't know what I'm doing! LOL!

I've been a Grocery Store Manager, a Bank Manager, the manager of a "Cigarette's Cheaper" store and Motel Manager.

I've was tired of being layed off due to stores closing, (I hope that dosen't say something about my management skills, LOL!), so I went back to school for 8 months to become what I am today... A heating & A/C tech. And guess what? Still not what I am looking for!

This spring when it slows down I'm thinking of going out and looking for a teaching job!

That's what I went to school for, but never did anything with it.

So, yeah... Let's both say "the heck with it" and find something that we REALLY want to do!

Good plan!

I have loved certain parts of almost all of the many positions I have held, however there have also been parts that I really didn't like either. Of course, you all have had similar experiences. I recommend finding something that is interesting to you because there will always be enjoyment and fulfillment as well as the boring stuff once you get into your field of choice.

I wish you all the best at going back to school. I was a returning part-time student at 28 and finally graduated with a BS in Political Science when I was 31, after going full-time for the last two years. It's hard while you're in the middle of it, but it goes by fast, and its sooo rewarding. You'll have so many more career opportunities waiting for you after that! All my best to you!

Good luck to you, honey! There's just so much pressure on people to KNOW what they want to do or "be", isn't there? I hate that saying now that I think about it. "What do you want to BE?" I think we all know what we want to be and it's not a job title. Ech, I just took that way deeper than I ever meant to! Lol, what I meant was- go get 'em girl! Haha
