Meanwhile we had our friends over to have a mini celebration in honor of my Birthday. I ended up falling asleep on the couch during a Rock Band session and later just got up and took myself to bed...I guess Mr. Bacardi and Diet took over that night...but it was fun...I sure paid for it the next day.
Hubby took the kids out the next morning to Toys R Us. Zman had $40 and it was burning a hole in his pocket. After that they went to the Halloween store and Love was sooo scared of a zombie who was crawling on the floor she ran sooo fast and backed herself in the corner, when Hubby tried to pick her up to let her know everything was fine she thought he was going to bring her back to see the Zombie and screamed sooo loud the entire store heard her. Needless to say he took her outside and Zman and his friend enjoyed looking at all the decorations.
Later that day I walked into Love's room and found a "doll cemetery"
Every one of her "babies" or stuffed animals was either completely covered with a blanket or tucked in just so. She had a habit of doing this throughout the house. When I ask her "what is going on" she replies "shhhh my babies are sweeping mom".
Saturday night my mom came over for dinner and she was going to babysit so hubby and I could have a night on the town. It was going to be some much needed one on one time followed by some dancing at a local club we really enjoy. However hubby came down with something and didn't feel good. He decided to lay down again thinking he would feel better but he had a sore throat and was congested. I let him know it would be fine if we stayed home and he insisted he would "suck it up" so we can go out but I knew he didn't feel good and he wouldn't have a good time. So I sent Grandma home and we stayed in. I am beginning to think we need to stop planning to do things. That way we don't get all excited about it and just let them happen because it just seems lately something happens or comes up when it's planned out...kinda doesn't leave room for let down when it's "spur of the moment".
Sunday was followed by yet another loss by the San Diego Chargers. Gotta love that defensive coach. Seriously...what plays was he calling during the majority of the game? The Saints had great passing plays and our men allowed them to be wide open. We did come back from a 17 point deficit but just like they say "close but no cigar".
Hubby cooked us wings and ribs for dinner and made the kids pasta and meatballs. I think he was worked up from the game and then dinner as he disappeared and went upstairs to lay down.
My birthday is tomorrow...I turn 31. We were hoping to have a quiet dinner out just the two of us to celebrate my day but no babysitter. One of these days we will get some alone time...I am sure in need of it that's fo sho!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)
How fun that they had a pillow fight. I don't think I've ever had a real one. But if I ever do have one - I hope feathers fly around everywhere.
But I have a funny feeling that doesn't happen in real life.
sounds like you had a good weekend even though you did not get your one on one time....things happen for a reason...you will get your time together and it will all be worth it!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
I love reading about your daughter being protective of her "sweeping" dolls! So cute.
